I believe that absolutely any song can sound amazing on the violin! Some songs have a natural melodic line that is easily recognizable on solo violin. Other songs would benefit from beats and background music (also known as a backing track) to make the song more recognizable. I can even improvise a violin melody over the original song with the lyrics! I offer free music consultations with every performance to review your song requests, let you know if I am able to perform it, and make sure my performance of your favorite songs aligns with your vision.

Electric and Classical violins can sound very similar to each other! I started on the classical violin, but now I almost exclusively perform on the electric violin. There are 3 main differences between the electric violin and classical/acoustic violin to consider:

Amplification: The acoustic violin can be used unplugged, so it is perfect if you are looking for the most minimalistic and portable option. But this also means that for larger events, you would not be able to turn up the volume. I always recommend the electric violin for larger events or events where there will be a lot of ambient noise.

Looks: If you are going for a traditional look, the classical violin is perfect. If you are looking for something more unique and modern, the electric violin always adds the wow factor. In almost every electric violin performance, a guest will approach me and say, “I have never seen a violin like that before!”

Backing Tracks: Electric Violin performances include background instrumental tracks that can enhance the performance. For example, I often a piano backing track to give modern songs a classical twist, and other times I use full instrumentals and beats to set the stage for an upbeat Hip Hop violin feel. Sometimes clients request that I use the original song recording with the lyrics, and add an improvised violin line for a one-woman DJ+Violinist type of performance. I also have the option to perform on the electric violin without any backing tracks - for example when performing classical melodies. I love the versatility that the electric violin offers!

I have a 4-step booking process:

1. Discovery. Fill out my contact form, I will send you pricing packages based on your event type and location. I will also send you a link to book an optional consultation call with me. Once I have all of the details I need, I will create a proposal for your violin music.

Contract. Next, you will receive a Proposal via e-mail which includes an invoice for the deposit and a performance contract. Once I receive your 50% deposit and e-signature, I will be officially booked for your event! The second payment will be automatically withdrawn from your original payment method, 3 days before your event. You will receive an e-mail reminder when your payment is due so the withdrawal will not come as a surprise.

Customization. After I receive your deposit and signed contract, I will send you a questionnaire to customize the song requests, attire, and music timeline. You can also schedule an optional planning call with me if you need any clarification or advice.

Performance. On the day of your event, I will meet your designated contact person at the wedding venue, set up, and perform for your event!

I have a song list of over 1000 songs in many genres and cultural styles, and I love learning new song requests too! Feel free to check with me before booking if you have a particular song in mind! Please keep in mind that I only play music with family-friendly lyrics and messages. I also have a Song Request FAQ page that goes into more detail about making song requests.

These instrumentals are called backing tracks, and I use them for most performances. There are wonderful options when choosing types of backing tracks: piano backing tracks, guitar backing tracks, full instrumental tracks, or even the original songs! I find and prepare these tracks in advance of your event and choose the tracks according to what suits the song best and/or what suits your particular event. Please feel free to let me know if you have any preference on styles of backing tracks. For example, piano tracks give the performance a classical “Bridgerton” vibe. Full instrumentals increase the energy, and the original songs with violin improvising along might be the most high-energy option.

Absolutely. Whether you are looking for a very soft ambiance or a show-stopping performance for hundreds of guests, my speaker is fully controllable and can even connect to DJs or Venue’s larger setup for large events!

I have a high-quality wireless system that allows me freedom of movement, and I love to move around while I play, but I am no longer offering “strolling violinist” services. I prefer a designated spot where I can comfortably perform. I am flexible about where to set up, whether it be an open area, strategic corner, space on the dance floor, spot on stage, or a raised platform. With a designated performance area, I can easily control my backing tracks, be viewed by guests without risking hitting them with my bow (or risk them hitting me), and focus on delivering the best musical performance possible. Plus, being a short gal it often looks much better when I am set up in an easily viewed area than buried in the crowd.

I always come prepared with battery-powered options for my electric violin and speaker! But if your venue does have electricity, I would love to be stationed near to an outlet if possible!

My equipment and I need to be in a comfortable environment that is out of direct sunlight and not too cold or hot (between 55-85 degrees).

I also need to know what the event’s rain plan is so I can assure that my instrument and equipment will not get wet.

I also need a chair and/or cocktail table if possible.

Lastly, I will need to know who to meet with when I arrive on site.

For events during mealtimes, a vendor meal is not required but always very appreciated!

Please feel free to make requests for me to use a specific violin! I do not guarantee that I will use any specific electric violin, because for logistical reasons I may need to choose a different one, but I will definitely keep your request in mind.
