I believe that any song can sound amazing on the violin! Some songs have a natural melodic line that is easily recognizable on solo violin. Other songs would benefit from beats and background music (also known as a backing track) to make the song more recognizable. I can even improvise a violin melody over the original song with the lyrics!

Electric and Classical violins can sound very similar to each other! I started on the classical violin, but now I almost exclusively perform on the electric violin. There are 3 main differences between the electric violin and classical/acoustic violin:

Amplification: The acoustic violin can be used unplugged, so it is perfect if you are looking for the most minimalistic and portable option. But this also means that for larger events, you would not be able to turn up the volume. I always recommend the electric violin for larger events or events where there will be a lot of ambient noise.

Looks: If you are going for a traditional look, the classical violin is perfect. If you are looking for something more unique and modern, the electric violin always adds a wow factor. In almost every electric violin performance, a guest will approach me and say, “I have never seen a violin like that before!”

Backing Tracks: Electric Violin performances include background instrumental tracks that can enhance the performance. For example, a piano backing track to give modern songs an elegant classical twist, or full instrumentals and beats to bring in upbeat party energy. Sometimes clients request that I use the original song recording with the lyrics, and add an improvised violin line.

I have a 4-step booking process:

1.Discovery. Once you fill out my contact form, I will send you pricing packages based on your event type and location. I will also send you a link to book an optional consultation call with me.

2.Contract. Based on the details you provideI, I will e-mail you a proposal for your violin music. Proposals include both an invoice for the deposit and a performance contract. Once I receive your 50% deposit and e-signature, I will be officially booked for your event! The second payment will be automatically charged to your original payment method, 3 days before your event.

3.Customization. To prepare for your event, I will send you a questionnaire about song requests, attire, and music timeline. You can also schedule an optional planning call with me if you need any clarification or advice.

Performance. I will arrive to your venue early to set up and meet your designated contact person. I look forward to performing for you!

These instrumentals are called backing tracks, and I use them for most performances. There are wonderful options when choosing types of backing tracks: piano backing tracks, guitar backing tracks, full instrumental tracks, or even the original songs. I find and prepare these backing tracks in advance and choose the tracks according to what best suits the song or your particular event. Please feel free to let me know if you have any preference on styles of backing tracks. For example, piano tracks give the performance a classical “Bridgerton” vibe. Full instrumentals increase the party energy, and the original songs with violin improvising along might be the most high-energy option.

Absolutely. Whether you are looking for a very soft ambiance or a show-stopping performance for hundreds of guests, my speaker is fully controllable and can even connect to a DJ or Venue’s larger setup for large events!

I have a high-quality wireless system that allows me freedom of movement, and I love to move around while I play! However I prefer a designated space to perform in, instead of walking amongst guests. Having ample space to perform allows me to deliver the best performance possible, and keeps guests safe from being hit with my violin or bow as I play. I am flexible about where to set up, whether it be a stage, platform, comfortable corner, or space on the dance floor.

I always come prepared with battery-powered options for my electric violin and speaker.

1.A comfortable environment that is out of direct sunlight and not too cold or hot (between 55-85 degrees).

2.A rain plan is so I can assure that my instrument and equipment will not get wet.

3.If possible, a chair and/or cocktail table.

4.Contact information for a designated person meet with when I arrive on site.

5.For events during mealtimes, a vendor meal is also very appreciated, though not required. :)
